Facundo Gómez

Facundo Gómez (PhD, Literature, Universidad de Buenos Aires) conducted his doctoral research on the critical discourse of Ángel Rama. He coordinated the volume Derivas do Latino-americanismo. Abordagens críticas das literaturas latino-americanas no século XXI (São Paulo, LiberArs, 2022), in collaboration with Cecilia Ugartemendía and Carla Benisz. He is responsible for América Latina: un pueblo en marcha (Santiago de Chile, Tucán-Fundación Darcy Ribeiro, 2022), a compilation of essays by Ángel Rama, and also for the prologue to the latest edition of La ciudad letrada (Montevideo, Estuario, 2024).

He is currently conducting postdoctoral research (CONICET) on the transformations in Latin American literary criticism in the 1980s, directed by Ximena Espeche and based at the Center for Intellectual History at the Universidad de Quilmes. His research focuses on the processes of renewal in Latin American literary criticism and history towards the end of the 20th century and contemporary debates on literature, culture, and Latin Americanism.
