Since 2016, the Center for Intellectual History and the Center for Historical Studies at El Colegio de México have organized the CONCEPTA Iberoamérica Summer School in Conceptual History, in which 500 students from Latin America, Europe, and the United States, as well as more than 100 professors, have participated.  

Its goal is to introduce participants to the main theoretical and methodological perspectives in conceptual history, that is, how history and historical change can be interpreted through the study of languages and concepts. Designed for advanced graduate students (master’s and doctoral candidates), faculty members, and researchers in history, political science, law, economics, sociology, anthropology, humanities, the arts, linguistics, and philosophy, the CONCEPTA Iberoamérica Summer School brings together an international faculty of renowned scholars for ten working days at the Center for Historical Studies at El Colegio de México. Activities are organized into introductory courses, specialized seminars, lectures, and a workshop for the presentation and critique of participants’ projects. It is a unique space in Latin America for rigorous, pluralistic, and transnational academic discussion on conceptual history, its methodologies, limitations, and challenges. Each year, approximately 50 participants are selectedfrom among the applicants. It is a unique academic experience due to the quantity and quality of the faculty. 

The CONCEPTA Ibero-America Summer School was created through an international network comprising the leading European and Latin American universities and centers specializing in intellectual history: El Colegio de México, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Centro de Historia Intelectual-Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, Universidad del País Vasco, , Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad de Chile and the networks of conceptual history Iberconceptos and CONCEPTA International Research School in Conceptual History and Political Thought..
