Anahí Ballent

Anahí Ballent
(Tandil, Buenos Aires, 1956)

Anahí Ballent is an architect (Arch, the Universidad Nacional de La Plata) and historian (PhD, University of Buenos Aires). She is currently an Honorary Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (Centro de Historia Intelectual e Instituto de Estudios de la Ciencia y la Tecnología). She has served as a Full Professor at the same university and is also an independent researcher at CONICET.
She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at national and international universities. She has numerous publications in her field, including the books Las huellas de la política. Ciudad, vivienda, peronismo en Buenos Aires (Bernal, UNQ- Prometeo, 2005) and, in collaboration with Jorge F. Liernur, La casa y la multitud. Vivienda, cultura y política en la Argentina moderna (Buenos Aires, Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2015). She is also the author, together with Dhan Zunino Singh, Melina Piglia, and Valeria Gruschetsky, of Infraestructura y Estado. Episodios de la modernización territorial argentina (Bernal, UNQ, 2023). Since 2023, she has served as the director of the Las ciudades y las ideas collection, published by UNQ press.
Her research explores the cultural history of housing policies and architecture in the 20th century (Argentina and Latin America) and the relationships between technology, the state, and politics in the same period (especially in the case of engineering and public works).
