Intellectual History Workshop

The Intellectual History Workshop is one the Center for Intellectual History’s most important activities. Co-organized with the Program of History and Anthropology of Culture (IDACOR) at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, it began in 2008 with the aim of bringing together researchers training in intellectual history from across the country to participate in a workshop, connect with peers, and develop ideas, themes, terms, and tools that would be conducive to a renewed and complex historiographical practice. Students are also afforded the opportunity to develop ideas and hold discussion with more experienced researchers. Since then, the workshop has been held every two years, alternating its hosting site between the CHI and IDACOR.

In 2026, the VIII Intellectual History Workshop will take place in Córdoba, offering opportunities for the discussion of diverse inter-disciplinary research that has developed within the frame of intellectual history in Argentina. The usual working groups will be complemented by a forum on the problematization of historiographical questions that guide our inquiries, in order to look beyond the issues, states of the question, and the hypotheses themselves. We will also take the opportunity to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of IDACOR.
