He has been a member of the board of directors of the cultural journal <em>Punto de Vista<\/em>and the architectural culture journal <em>Block.<\/em><\/p><p>Among other distinctions, he was a member of the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart in 1994-1995; he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2003 and was Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar Professor at the University of Cambridge in 2011-2012; he was a member of the Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin in 2016-2017, and held the Tinker Chair at the University of Chicago in 2023. He has been a visiting professor at Harvard University, Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin, Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile, among other institutions.<\/p><p>His books include:\u00a0<em>La grilla y el parque. Espacio p\u00fablico y cultura urbana en Buenos Aires, 1887-1936\u00a0<\/em>(1998);\u00a0<em>Miradas sobre Buenos Aires. Historia cultural y cr\u00edtica urbana\u00a0<\/em>(2004);\u00a0<em>Das vanguardas a Bras\u00edlia. Cultura urbana e arquitetura na Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/em>\u00a0(2005); <em>Correspondencias. Arquitectura, ciudad, cultura<\/em>\u00a0(2011); and <em>La ciudad latinoamericana. Una figura de la imaginaci\u00f3n social del siglo XX <\/em>(2022). He has also edited three collaborative collective books:\u00a0<em>Jos\u00e9 Luis Romero.\u00a0Vida hist\u00f3rica, ciudad y cultura<\/em>\u00a0(2013, with Jos\u00e9 Emilio Buruc\u00faa and Fernando J. Devoto),\u00a0<em>Ciudades sudamericanas como arenas culturales<\/em>\u00a0(2016, with Fernanda Ar\u00eaas Peixoto), and\u00a0<em>La Argentina como problema<\/em>\u00a0(2018, with Carlos Altamirano).<\/p><p>His research topics include: urban cultural history (with works on Buenos Aires in the 19th and 20th centuries), the history of ideas about the city (with works on the socio-urban debate in Latin America in the 20th century), and the relationships between intellectual history and the history of the city and architecture (with various works on artists, historians, and intellectuals who have had a special focus on urban and architectural themes in the 19th and 20th centuries).<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/historiaintelectual.com.ar\/eng\/adrian-gorelik-3\/\">Published books<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arquitecto y doctor en historia (ambos t\u00edtulos por la Universidad de Buenos Aires).
