Since 2011, he has been a researcher at CONICET and the Center for Intellectual History, where he is a member of the editorial team of the journal <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prismas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and since 2021, he has also directed the Master's Degree Program in Intellectual History. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Oscar Ter\u00e1n Seminar on the History of Ideas, Intellectuals, and Culture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bergel was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University (2012) and has received scholarships from the Fulbright Foundation, UCL London, and the DAAD in Germany (2009 and 2015); he was a senior fellow at CALAS (Center for Advanced Latin American Studies, 2019-2020), a Mercator Fellow in the \u201cGlobal Intellectual History\u201d program at the Free University of Berlin (2022), and a Georg Forster Fellow at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2023-2025). He has also been a visiting professor at the Universidade do S\u00e3o Paulo, the Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile, Shanghai University, and El Colegio de M\u00e9xico. He has lectured at Harvard University, Tulane University, the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro, the Universidade Federal Fluminense, the University of Oxford, the Ibero-American Institute in Berlin, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos, the Vasconcelos Library in Guadalajara, Peking University, and the Cervantes Institute in New Delhi, among other places.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His primary areas of research are intellectual history, the history of print culture in Latin America, and the history of the Third World imagination. His work seeks to connect Latin American studies with global history perspectives. He published <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Oriente desplazado. Los intelectuales y los or\u00edgenes del tercemundismo en Argentina<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (UNQ, 2015; Third Prize in the 2019 National Awards of the Ministry of Culture of Argentina) and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La desmesura revolucionaria. Cultura y pol\u00edtica en los or\u00edgenes del APRA <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Siniestra, 2019), as well as two anthologies by Jos\u00e9 Carlos Mari\u00e1tegui (in Siglo XXI's \u201cBiblioteca del Pensamiento Socialista,\u201d 2020, and in Fondo de Cultura Econ\u00f3mica's \u201cSerie Viajeros\/Viajeras,\u201d 2022), and the preliminary study for the centenary reissue of his first book, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La escena contempor\u00e1nea<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also in the FCE (2025). As an editor, he published <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los viajes latinoamericanos de la Reforma Universitaria<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (HyA, Rosario, 2018), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Futuro. Miradas desde las Humanidades<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (UNSAM Edita, 2019, with Andr\u00e9s Kozel and Valeria Llobet) and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Estado editor.
