Among those honored are three researchers from the Center for Intellectual History: Adri\u00e1n Gorelik and El\u00edas Palti, in the field of Political, Cultural, and Intellectual History, and Roy Hora, in Economic and Social History.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>jury<\/strong> for this 47th edition of the Konex Awards is composed of twenty distinguished figures and is chaired by A\u00edda Kemelmajer, with Pablo Gerchunoff serving as secretary general and Jos\u00e9 Emilio Buruc\u00faa as a special guest. On this occasion, disciplines related to <strong>History<\/strong> were included in the Humanities (until 2014, they were part of the Literary Studies).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In previous editions, researchers from the Center for Intellectual History were also honored, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/historiaintelectual.com.ar\/eng\/carlos-altamirano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Carlos Altamirano<\/strong> <\/a>(Platinum Konex Award in 2014) and <a href=\"https:\/\/historiaintelectual.com.ar\/eng\/sebastian-carassai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Sebasti\u00e1n Carassai<\/strong><\/a> (Diploma of Merit, 2016).<\/span><\/p><h5><b>About Distinguished Researchers<\/b><\/h5><p><a href=\"https:\/\/historiaintelectual.com.ar\/eng\/adrian-gorelik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Adri\u00e1n Gorelik<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> He is an architect and holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Buenos Aires. He is a principal researcher at CONICET and served as a tenured professor at the National University of Quilmes until 2024. He serves on the board of directors of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prismas.Revista de Historia Intelectual<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Among his books, the following stands out:<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> La grilla y el parque. Espacio p\u00fablico y cultura urbana en Buenos Aires, 1887-1936<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1998) and <em>La ciudad latinoamericana. Una figura de la imaginaci\u00f3n social del siglo XX\u00a0<\/em>(2022).  His research focuses on <strong>urban cultural history and the history of ideas,<\/strong> on the cities in Latin America and the relationships between intellectual history, the city, and architecture.<\/span><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/historiaintelectual.com.ar\/eng\/elias-palti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>El\u00edas Palti<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Elias Palti holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed postdoctoral studies at El Colegio de M\u00e9xico and Harvard University. He is currently a professor at the National University of Quilmes and the University of Buenos Aires. His publications include, among other books, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apor\u00edas. Tiempo, modernidad, historia, sujeto, naci\u00f3n, ley <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2001);<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> La naci\u00f3n como problema. Los historiadores y la \u201ccuesti\u00f3n nacional\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2003); <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La invenci\u00f3n de la legitimidad. Raz\u00f3n y ret\u00f3rica en el pensamiento mexicano del siglo XIX<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2005).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/historiaintelectual.com.ar\/eng\/roy-hora\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Roy Hora<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Oxford; he is a senior researcher at CONICET, a full professor at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, and a professor at the Universidad de San Andr\u00e9s. His books include <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los estancieros contra el Estado<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2009) and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Historia econ\u00f3mica de la Argentina en el siglo XIX <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2010). His research focuses on Argentine history from 1850 to 1945, with an emphasis on the economic and political history of social classes.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a recognition of their careers and contributions to intellectual, political, and economic history.<\/span><\/p><h5><b>About the Konex Awards<\/b><\/h5><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Konex Awards were established in 1980 by Luis Ovsejevich with the aim of recognizing Argentina\u2019s most prominent individuals and institutions in various cultural fields.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ceremony to award the Diplomas of Merit will take place on September 8 at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Derecho).
